About this Investigator

Dr. Sanghavi Goel has a long-standing clinical and research interest in improving care among vulnerable populations using technology solutions. She has unique content expertise in evaluating patient perspectives on the patient portal. In addition, she has clinical experience that allows her to understand the institutional context in which patient portals are adopted. Over the past 3 years, she has led institutional efforts redesigning the patient portal to maximize uptake and use among providers and patients. In this capacity, she has conducted usability testing among a diverse population of patients, overseen the portal redesign and served as a clinical liaison introducing the new portal to health care providers. She also receives funding to examine the impact of privacy concerns on using remote monitoring for congestive heart failure. Lastly, she has experience developing patient messages and designing interventions testing these messages as seen in her work developing and testing patient messages to enhance breast cancer screening in a largely Spanish-speaking federally qualified community health center.
