Description

Geriatric Medicine Program Director, Dr. June M. McKoy, was one of three medical staff members awarded the 2015 Martin Luther King, Jr Humanitarian Award by Northwestern Medicine on 1/14/2015 in a ceremony in Chicago. The award honors those who exemplify Dr. King’s ideals of humanitarianism and recognizes colleagues who make extraordinary contributions to the community. Dr. McKoy's leadership role with the American Cancer Society and Leadership Greater Chicago, her mentorship of underserved and other students across the education continuum, her pro bono legal services, and her volunteerism with the frail elderly population through Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for the Elderly (H.O.M.E.) are a few of the many reasons she was honored with this very prestigious award by Northwestern.
