About this Project

Using a nationally representative sample of Latinos, this project seeks to understand the relationship between diabetes and acculturation--the process whereby individuals from one culture adopt the attitudes, behaviors, and values of the prevailing culture. Previous studies examining acculturation and diabetes in Latinos have reached differing conclusions. This is the first study to explore this relationship in a nationally representative sample of U.S. Latinos.
